Helping tenants access lower-cost solar energy through trusted local partnerships

Civic Energy Partnership works with councils and housing providers to deliver solar and battery energy schemes for eligible homes.

Our aim is simple: to help tenants reduce their electricity costs, make better use of renewable energy, and feel fully supported throughout the process.

Who we are, what we do, and why we do it

Making renewable energy more accessible for tenants

Civic Energy Partnership helps eligible tenants benefit from solar-generated electricity without the upfront cost of installing solar panels themselves.

Working with councils and housing providers, we install solar panels on suitable homes and, where available, battery storage to help households use more of the electricity generated at their property.

Solar electricity is measured separately from grid electricity, with clear billing and support throughout.

The scheme is designed to help tenants:

Struggling to pay?
If a tenant is struggling to pay, we encourage them to contact us as soon as possible. We can talk through the account and may be able to set up an affordable payment plan.

Built-in safegurding
We also have built-in safeguards where the system switches to “export mode” if a payment is missed, rather than disconnecting the tenant. This helps prevent further debt from building while we work with them on a suitable payment arrangement.
